 Omaha City Tournament - August 12, 2006

The Omaha City Tournament was held at the American Legion Post # 1 at 7811 Davenport Street on Saturday, August 12, 2006.

• There were 3 divisions planned but the C division lost interest and didn't communicate, so it was eliminated.

• There were 4 players in the A & B division that had some issues come up and couldn't play. We ended up with eight players in one division.

• The Swiss-System was used, there were 5 rounds of play in this freestyle event. The number of players were even, so every one played everybody.

• John Pestal of Omaha, NE won the championship but had to beat George Stallsworth in a sudden death playoff game.

*John Incontro was stripped of his points and placed last because he left without telling anyone.   Submitted by Dave Stovie - President of NCA

 

John Pestal defeated George Stallsworth in a sudden death playoff game to capture the 2006 Omaha City Championship.  This was John's 10th City Title.	Concentration is serious between these two State Champions.  John Pestal - 4 Times Champ, and George Stallsworth - 3 State Titles.
